A Note about BOFC: Cellular, Fall Season...
By Lee Tistaert Published September 15, 2004
Just to clear things up, I have the ability to score BOFC entries, but am not able to add movies that haven?t been inputted as a challenge yet, nor am I able to alter deadline dates if there was originally a mistake. These things are handled by Jason, who runs the entire database, but he hasn?t been consistently available this year to keep everything up to date.
As a result, the Cellular challenge, which was incorrectly set to close on September 17, will not be scored until the next time he?s around (as well as that weekend?s movies). Anyone who submitted predictions after the opening night deadline (Sept. 10) will be excluded when it?s taken care of.
The BOFC fall season was not properly set up, and so right now Sky Captain is the only film you?re able to submit predictions for (no other films are inputted). And to add on to that, it wasn?t inputted as a scoring option in the database, and so I?m not able to score it yet either.
It looks as though when the summer season concluded, the weekly scores for the fall season have been still adding on to the summer tabulations (it wasn?t switched over). Again, I don?t have the ability to fix this right now, and so these corrections will have to be delayed. I?m not sure what the deal will be concerning the fall season (schedule of challenges, that is) given this sketchy start, but for now you can predict for Sky Captain (if you want) and I will see if matters are corrected within the next week or two.
Some of these details are things I would?ve normally noticed earlier (and brought to attention), but I have been wrapped up in other things for about a month, which has taken my attention away from the site some, and BOFC.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 10 players of summer, but the scoring errors will have to be cleared up before that happens. This may be frustrating, especially if you?re a potential candidate for receiving a prize, but please bare with me until it can be sorted out. Thanks.
