A Few Notes About LMI...
By Lee Tistaert Published May 4, 2004
On Sunday (May 2) our ?.net? server expired and I had forgotten to renew it by that time, and as a result many of you have had problems accessing various sections of the site (changing any .net URL to .com should fix the problem in the short run). However, the server was renewed, but server changes don?t always go into effect immediately, and so problems may still arise during the early portion of this week (to those who were concerned, SimCinema data would not have been lost).
Regarding BOFC, all scores for the Holiday and Spring seasons have been finalized. There was a mix-up in early February regarding the Feb. 6 - 8 weekend challenges involving Barbershop 2, Miracle, and Catch that Kid, but it has been taken care of and that weekend is now scored. The same goes for the April 9 - 11 weekend frame, as challenges for The Alamo, Ella Enchanted, The Girl Next Door, and The Whole Ten Yards have also been scored.
We are going to be rewarding prizes to the top 8 players of both seasons this week. To view both season?s scores: http://www.leesmovieinfo.net/BOFCSeasonTotals.php?season_id=10 and http://www.leesmovieinfo.net/BOFCSeasonTotals.php?season_id=9
(the link is also available at the bottom of the main page of LeesMovieInfo.com)
Also, through the following link you can check out an archived chart of BOFC winners: http://www.leesmovieinfo.net/BOFC-Prizes.php
There are players who are entitled to a free DVD (of choice) from having predicted the highest grossing debut of the month from way back in the day, who weren?t granted it at the time. If you are amongst that group of players (from seeing this chart), you can send an email to movman5@aol.com. Even if you did receive your DVD, but the prize is not listed, please email anyways.
The summer season of BOFC will be jumpstarting this week with the releases of Van Helsing and New York Minute (and will conclude on the August 13 - 15 weekend). You will also be able to track your season score every week at:
http://www.leesmovieinfo.net/BOFCSeasonTotals.php?season_id=11
(this link is also available at BOFC)
Regarding SimCinema, new markets will be opening this coming weekend (May 7 - 9), which will focus on the summer releases. These markets will exist only for the summer.
This week, the LMI summer movie breakdown will be posted. You can view last year's article at Summer 2003 Chat.
From everyone at LMI, we thank you for your continued support.
