A Wrong Turn
Charles Marshall is a former CIA agent; now retired, he does security for a construction company. His daughter, Brenda Marshall, is a college student. Unaware that her father is secretly working for the government, she believes everything is normal. Until one day she returns home from school and finds her father missing. The house has been completely trashed and Brenda has no idea what has happened. She receives a phone call from a man who claims he knows what has happened to Charles. He wants to meet with Brenda but she is reluctant to do so. But nevertheless, she agrees.

They meet at a diner near the city. The man approaches Brenda and tells her he is a CIA agent. His name is Xander. He was once trained by Charles. He also tells her that Charles is in serious trouble but he doesn't give her any details. Brenda insists that Xander tell her about what happened to her father. Xander tells her he needs a disk that contains info on a terrorist organization which Charles had been working undercover. Brenda agrees to help Xander. They leave the diner but they are followed. Xander and Brenda are ambushed. Brenda escapes but Xander is nowhere to be found…

-- Script Pitch III Co-Host Commentary --
by Stephen Lucas

Stephen's Analysis:

We’ve seen the whole secret identity story before. We’ve seen a father/daughter secret agent story before (most recently on TV’s "Alias"). We’ve seen pretty much everything there is to see about the CIA and so forth.

The thing that this pitch lacks is something different, original, or exciting that we have not heard about, seen, or talked about before. Yeah, this may find an audience, but that audience is shrinking with each new rehash.
