The Settlers
It is 1820 in New South Wales, Australia. The country has
been colonized for 40 years already by the British, but
given the vastness of the country the habitants of the new
land still don't know how large the Australian continent is.
The governor general hires ten trackers to travel across the
vast land to map it out and see where it ends. The journey
is plagued with troubles and they pick up company on the way
too.
This is a time when the native aboriginals in Australia
were angry at the white settlers too and conflict between
these different people is a major backdrop to what will be a
vastly incredible film of love, courage, strength, power,
death and survival. It doesn't have to be an expensive film
to make --- $20 million at tops. But using quality
Australian and English acting talents of Guy Pearce, Eric Bana, Bill Nighy, Kerry Armstrong and Deb Mailman.

Stephen's Analysis:
Personally, I think this may be an interesting film to
make: the setting and concept seems like something to build
a good story upon. Yet I’m not seeing much of a narrative
described in the pitch. Writers can build everything up, but
movies come down to characters, subplots, relationships, and
so forth. "The Settlers" is currently a nice-sounding
foundation without much built on it.
