Michael's Pain
Michael is a fifteen year old boy from a small southern town. He is well liked in school, but people question his shyness, wondering if he was beat as a child or just doesn't of this skills to carry on a conversation. Michael keeps quiet and shy because at home he abused by his stepfather John. John does abuse Michael but not physically, he abuses him mentally and Michael never tells anyone so this problem just keeps escalating and when Michael had enough he turns to drugs and drinking and by the age of seventeen he becomes a heroin addict.

Michael's biological father Jim died when he was only four due to a drug overdose. But when Michael takes too much ecstasy he lands in the hospital and his mother finally realizes that something is wrong and something has to be done. Will Michael ever get his act together and stand up to John or will he follow in the same foot-steps as his father and land up dead by the age of twenty-eight.

Note: I plan on writing an expansion on this with more of the mother involved and also including flashbacks of Michael's father.

Stephen's Analysis:

I think there’s a very good story to be told here. Right now, the film comes off pretentious and melodramatic to truly get behind. We don’t often see films really dive into the abusive home relationships very often, at least not between sons and fathers. I think if "Michael’s Pain" focuses on this aspect, and its effect on him throughout his adulthood, this film could have potential.

However, before that can happen I’d like to see more being added to his character than just his past. Perhaps add more about his current life to build upon your story. (You should possibly consider switching titles, as the current one comes off a bit bland.)
